About the Presenter
Maureen Canning, MA, LMFT
Maureen Canning, MA, LMFT, Clinical Consultant for Sexual Disorders at The Meadows and Dakota, has extensive experience working with sexual disorders. She is a past board member of the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health, as well as past president of the Arizona Council on Sexual Addiction. She facilitated inpatient sexual disorders treatment at The Meadows for a number of years before opening a private practice in Phoenix. Maureen is the author of Lust, Anger, Love: Understanding Sexual Addiction and the Road to Healthy Intimacy.

This dynamic and interactive training presents an innovative model for the treatment of sexual compulsivity. Maureen Canning has combined Pia Mellody’s developmental model, which is the foundation of The Meadows’ treatment program, with her own extensive experience treating sexual compulsivity. This comprehensive training provides assimilation of treatments for trauma, addiction and relational wounding to enhance the scope of your practice. Participants will be able to:
• Understand the diagnostic criteria for sexual addiction and the cycle of addiction
• Identify the roles of trauma and trauma templates in sexual addiction
• Understand the role of cybersex in sexual addiction
• Determine the role that addiction interaction plays in sexual addiction
• Integrate recovery tools and treatment techniques
• Understand the dimensions of healthy sexuality and relational development

Cancellation Policy: For a full refund, a written cancellation notice must be received 72 hours prior to the scheduled event. No refunds will be given on or after the event date. Dates and locations subject to change without notice. In the event of circumstances beyond our control, The Meadows reserves the right to amend or cancel any event. The Meadows will refund the registration fee in full, but is not liable for any expense incurred by participants as a result of cancellation.
